March 2010
Okay okay, I guess I ought to explain the spam of posts tonight.
I’ve got 4 different projects on the go, and 2 other personal things going on in my head, and I barely have the time to make the work let alone blog it, so when I do find a slot I just chuck them all up in one go.
Anyway, I will try my best to explain them all.
Including this other one I’m chucking up here.

Using this for ‘Image and Text’ project.
So this was the 4th assignment handed to us this term and what I was thinking of doing was using images taken on 35mm film of various scenario’s from the things that happen in the night to to the odd situations of the daytime, and using newspaper article cut outs to produce my own kind of story/column. I need to find a place that sells newsprint paper first of all and I need to get out and take some pictures, but I wanted to start with this image as a kind of front cover, ONLY because it had the bait newsagents in the background haha. So I made a print of it.
Materiality of Photography project
BASICALLY, what I’ve got from the project brief is that you can do what you want in this as long as you explained why you have done, how you’ve got their, what artists have motivated this movement and what you want to get out of it……
SO. I haven’t looked any artists as such, not any that is directly aimed at this project, but I can say I’ve been mildly influenced by Banksy lately just for his how can I put it ‘approach’ ha. But really, I draw a fascination to tower blocks and just derelict areas to be far, I like them, and I want my prints to come across as rough as well, so the focusing on the images are a bit off and there is no tidiness what so ever. And then want to present them mounted on another rough surface, so the viewer can feel the roughness…?????
I’m looking at “rough” places but the idea isn’t so much whats in the image but the feel of the print?!

I found a old drawing a few of us done at a birthday event, funny at the time, still
funny.

I’m really trying to keep my eye open for new photographers and some exceptional work out there, I’ve come across a couple of artists work who have really spoken out to me, some cool stuff guys.

Well, it won’t change unless YOU change it.
Hi, I’m Matthew, I’ve created this tumblrrrrr to kind of use it as a idea generator and just a place where plans can be drawn up, ideas dropped in, and where I can post new material I see in my world and on the web. I’ll post what I can when I can so don’t expect a daily update.
Anyway to get a rough idea of what am I like, these are a few of the things I like.
